Inspired by "John Gault's Radio Address" in Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged"
The last of my words I leave to those heros hidden in the world
Held prisoner within the beauty of a soul unfurled
Of virtue and desperate determination
My friends in spirit, keep watch your border
For lingering enemies await to bring disorder
Hurling hatred upon a path of an honest life
Where roads have been laid down with passionate invention and emotions
To serve hungry nations of voracious appetites and notions
And you are held by means of your endurance
As your generousity extends to bear their sorrow and concerns
Innocent of their sulfurous hearts as their mind burns
A crack on the sidewalk disguishes
Their evil in cries of despair
And you stand unaware
Unable to conceive of their intentions
In giving every benefit of every doubt
You refuse to condemn that which eludes you
Devout to understanding
You stand with your love for life
They chant quiet prayers of strife
As you naively call them friend
They plan your love for life to end

You know something? I am glad that I found your blog because you always have so many interesting snippets to share, from friendship "matching baggage" to poems.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that it's one of the few insightful blogs to me too!
Love reading your blog ;)
Cheers
Ayn keeps coming back to me and somehow affecting my life. My mother read this book and never told me. I read it many years later after hearing about John Gault in college and after that, again, ten years later.
ReplyDeleteHe destroyed a society by simply dropping out.
What you have written is not for the inexperienced. To glean the wisdom here takes many, many years of living with evil and corruption that thinks of itself as good and decent, and professional. Amazing how social murderers think well of themselves and are sadistic toward their victims. Very nice capture here and I'll take a look at some of your other work.
WOW what a truely devoted grasp you hold on your lifes seeking to its own understanding, be this from listening to a radio adress or any other form of imtellect, your stand in your lifes understanding and determination is expounded by your words of addressement. I am glad to have reviewed this work of yours, I find it a blessing to the intellect of human nature. Amen. :}
