Romantic Nonfiction

MM: Please tell me a JNET story.

JNET: Of what genre would you like your story in? :) Would you like to hear the JNET fairy tale story? the adventure one? the ???? one? Name it... and you will have a story :)

MM: Romantic nonfiction please.

A blog entry and exercise just for my friend MM.

ROMANTIC NONFICTION

ROMANTIC: 1. suggestive of the world of romance (jnetsworld is that and a bag of chips!) 2. characterized by a preoccupation with love or by the idealizing of love or one's beloved (living IS loving for a negativity slayer) 3. displaying or expressing love or strong affection (mwuah mwuah mwuah) 4. of, pertaining to, or characteristic of a style of literature and art that subordinates form to content, encourages freedom of treatment, emphasizes imagination, emotion, and introspection, and often celebrates nature, the ordinary person, and freedom of the spirit (JNET is INTJ) 5. of or pertaining to a musical style characteristic chiefly of the 19th century and marked by the free expression of imagination and emotion, virtuosic display, experimentation with form, and the adventurous development of orchestral and piano music and opera.... (What would Beethoven do? is JNET's favorite question)

NONFICTION: the branch of literature comprising works of narrative prose dealing with or offering opinions or conjectures upon facts and reality, including biography, history, and the essay

MM, here is my narrative imaginative introspective.

JNET has been romancing life. You can go through the archives. I've romanced over music; surrendering seasons to Debussy and Albeniz and writing about travels to exotic places around the world to taking pictures of sharks, hiking various urban meccas and diving out of planes.

I've studied tango and salsa but I REALLY want to study flamenco dance. I bought the special shoes and everything but somehow get pulled into social dancing circles that have nothing to do with flamenco dance. Salsa and tango are just irresistible flirts when its really flamenco that I have my eyes (or feet) set on. Meanwhile, I do dance and perform with Kayamanan Ng Lahi, a folks arts group of my peeps from my nick of the pacific. Rehearsal and performance are exercise disciplines.

Its all about writing, teaching the piano, and photography at the given moment. And my dance partner is LIFE.

What kind of romantic nonfiction is THAT?

In other words, onay on the oyfriendbay estionquay :)

I have my muse... who I call the mathematician. I won't write about him at this given moment but I do credit a good deal of my work through the years on account of his counsel and inspiration.

And who needs an oyfriendbay henway my orldway is urroundedsay by so anymay amazing riendsfay, amilyfay embersmay and ovinglay eoplepay?

There's a long story, you see. A good one. Life has me on the edge of my seat. I hadn't quite got the dance of work and true love down but the choreography is being drawn up. Just going for whatever I am going for will pan everything just right in its own timing or God's timing if we want to get specific here :)

Life definitely has a WOW factor over me. Every day has a sense of anticipation and promise. There are just too many coincidences happening on a regular basis that I am fascinated.... I am in a sense "romancing life" and sharing it with someone special is in the works for this happily ever after girl.

From the serene spartan world of the mathematician and imaginative world of candy wax cutie to taking a splash in a shark cage, I can't say that I feel like I'm missing something or someone in my romantic nonfiction story in the making. Everything is in place, I'm just working out my lines on stage and wondering how it all fits together - the future is in the making. May the force be with you as it is with me.

MM. How is this for a chapter of romantic nonfiction?

Cheers. Its a little bit more substance than JNET: single, social butterfly.

PHOTOS: Happy 2009 :)

I danced into 2008 with reckless abandon. By Spring I was ready to return to the comfort of myself and quiet...

I got so quiet that I took a break from writing, salsa dancing, podcasting and playing the piano. Its now 2009 and the most important place to me is the quiet that I find in my solitude.

To begin writing again...

And being myself again...

The borders of jnetsworld have stretched to new horizons. There are not enough words to express who I am now. But perhaps in pictures....

Snapshots of 2008...

My solitude found a family. (above: E, C and M)

My place was no longer only about my music and rehearsals. I danced for pure enjoyment to be with my friends to laugh and play. I am normally not as social as these three have drawn me out and stretched me. These three created the salsa dancer I am today... all great teachers, technique perfectionists, and friends ... who have made permanent marks into my heart and soul.. as well as a permanent home in jnetsworld :)

I learned how to make art with flips of laughter somersaults of silliness. I didn't miss my solitude. I didn't miss writing. The world fell apart in little ways with tiny dramas along the way... like disagreeable roommates... not having enough students. But I had my loyal friends and an energetic front line.

Spring 2008 was a wild garden. Jnetsworld was LIVELY and growing.

Work and play came to a new level. And salsa opened to expanding my love of photography. C was working on a friend's project and together we had good work chemistry. In turn, pulling the volume down on salsa and working me to a balance. I took lots of pictures... and I still didn't miss my solitude. Podcasting went on break... blogging went on break... new connections and roads were made.

My world of notes and words expanded into color. Friendships grew into creative bonds and projects were born. Jnetsworld's art is part of so many other worlds. So many new friends came into my quiet world this past year...

"Facebook ME." Became the hello to people that impressed themselves upon me.

Salsa dancing evolved to an at-home-only-with-friends activity. I danced only at KNL rehearsaI, saving my energy to concentrate on performing at the Ford. I had 6 hours at least of rigorous dancing during the hot summer months. I attempted podcasting but hit upon so many technical difficulties with the computer, phones and headsets.

I was writing and podcasting... but in my head and drafted thoughts collected in my archives... or became canned. The Ford performance was a sold-out success though.

Beyond dancing and photography. I sought to speak beyond my blog... beyond podcasting. I stepped away from my safe internet world and joined Toastmasters. Again, stretching myself away from solitude. I missed practicing the piano. I missed writing. But I was up to new things.

The question came up often....Where is my writing and podcasting? Where is the mathematician? I once blogged to document life. But I got caught up in so many different things and a mulitude of thoughts marched through my head... but I never sat down to really tie them down with my words. And a certain sensibility left me. Where did I leave my words, my reflections?

All on the backburner... Yes, I felt that tinge of "missing" but I was on an adventure that I know will lead me back to home.

In the space of new friends, my royal court of friends who have been with me through the years grew with me Thoughts were sorted through quick text messages. I am still so busy that the best way to reach me is via email or text messaging.

Busy with my work, my projects, my rehearsals, my friends and then of course ... my family.

A family with nieces and nephews... many brand new :) A family of brothers and sisters in law... a family with a mom who had two surgeries and a year of physical therapy. 2008 was intense and beautiful in the family front.

And it made me wonder....

Can I do all the things I love to do and build a kingdom for myself like my brothers??? I stretch my thoughts on salt shakerhood as I flirt with couplehood. I could be happy with work and solitude... and I could be happy in other ways too. I learned to look beyond that world called friendship. Through dance, someone wanted to show me a glimpse of the possibilities in his mind.

Love and life always teaches...one to grow... I am having a good and terrible time figuring out how my dreams will look like in the future...

I know I can always be happy with my world as it is... Full of friends, family, love, fun, adventures in work and play. That I still think of solitude and I think of me.

It is 2009... I am back to writing... and shortly to podcasting....

The mathematician did return .. by the way...after I shared with him the vision I was growing in my world, he thought it was a good time to say hello.. I have a couple of hellos on the go :) My mind is spinning with wonder... I can only hope to write more often to make sense of my world.

What makes sense for my world is the continuing journey. I am still playing with my color, with my music, with my words and with my dance.

2009 is going to be lots of fun...

I love watching life unfold. It's beautiful... isn't it? Happy New Year.

The Secret People

What values motivate Oprah? How does the mind of Trump, Gates, and Buffet work? What thought patterns does a billionaire take on and where do I stand within that?

It's a seminar. It's a party. It's a peel yourself like an onion and take stock of your life by kicking your own backside celebration.

Freud's world of psychoanalysis-years-of-therapy program is grossly outdated by the new technologies of digging into the mind with Christopher Howard's "Breakthrough to Success" program.... a primer into a world where one can REPROGRAM oneselves from self-defeating habits and create roads towards a life that is open to success quicker than Freud can clean his false wooden teeth and return for your session.

A certain "exercise" reconfigured my emotions over a certain moment within minutes. I cried my eyes over it for a second and was OVER it ENTHUSIASTICALLY. NO, silly, I wasn't BRAINWASHED... I am on a mission to CLEAN HOUSE.

I had lunch with a woman who cuts million dollar deals as a product developer. She was frustrated that she kept hitting an income ceiling of $200,000 a year. She felt capable of more and wanted to study herself and see how she can bump herself up.

Would it be worth it to you to spend a weekend to focus and get down and dirty with your limiting thoughts? It was for me.

I had lunch with a retired toy designer from Mattel. He was wondering how he might enjoy his retirement and be productive at the same time. He's retired at age 42. He has a lot of life to yet be creative but in a different way.

I had lunch with a musican. He has several projects on the go and wanted to get clear with steps towards future goals to record and tour... as well as publish a book he's working on.

I attended because I have a book I'm writing and wish to have a complete and have registered at the writer's guild by June 1. I'm also looking at finding an illustrator for the cover and self-publishing....and it is a new world to me because I am a music teacher by vocation. I took the course because I knew I had reservations about having my world change QUICKLY and I wanted to prepare my mind for it.

Like anyone in the planet, I deal with life.... I get discouraged or distracted. I deal with thoughts of losing control of my life within the changes. But I WANT the change, I WANT the success, I HAVE SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE and the road hits the occasional speed bump. But I will not veer off course.

And so after watching movies such as "The Secret" and "What the Bleep"... after listening to certain progressive radio's talk show hosts such as Lisa Garr of the Aware Show, after being involved with groups such as T. Harv Ecker, EMI and Landmark and collecting a world of wonderful supportive people, I decided to see what Christopher Howard had to say... He's part of a circle of people I admire and are teachers in my life...

It was A LOT. A party over neuro-linguistic programming, quantum physics, new technologies in the psychology realm with the Warren Buffet of the personal development field... makes for an intensive day that makes me excited to go for more the next day as I discover things about myself and see ways to realize my goals sooner than later.

Tomorrow is the final day of my 3 day seminar. It's been quite a revelation AND I did get present to some self-defeating ways of being that is slowing my publishing progress. Keeping up with the language is fast-paced and sophisticated but I'm riding the waves, BABY!

More thoughts tomorrow, after I end my final day at Christopher Howard's "Breakthrough to Success" Weekend...

Be my guest. Check out this Christopher Howard person.

Growing JNETSWORLD - 2 Years Old :)

JNETSWORLD officially turned 2 years old last week:)

What started out from a whim after googling for the definition of BLOG has grown into a journey of heart and soul, writing down thoughts of a solitary soul and finding kin-spirits along the way.

I wrote in secret for a year before telling anyone. And then I put the blog feed through my Friendster, later Tribe... Sometimes I copy a blog entry onto Myspace. And now JNETSWORLD has expanded onto Stumbleupon.

I guess I'm getting UNSHY :)

And I've gained so many friends and have been encouraged by their comments. I wanted to just share a few of my favorite reviews from my stumble community:)

**************************************

From APRILMUSE:

Jnetsworld is indeed a special place. I love my visits here because I so enjoy reading this woman's honest and intelligent commentary.

From GRYWLFMGRNS:

Jnet's blog is a wonderful reflection of the beauty within...great blog!

From SYNCOPATE:

I feel uncomfortable reading Jnet's pages sometimes. I feel like a voyeur. She tells us of her experiences with life in an intimate manner. She sheds layers of consciousness as one might shed one's clothes. Her desire: to transcend while staying well grounded(?) I could be wrong about that, though. I don't know. She invites you into her world literally (with a direct invitation) and metaphorically (through her photos, drawings, and prose). We learn that she plays Chopin. I wonder if she plays Liszt's "transcendental" etudes... If you are willing to challenge your "self," visit her page.

From GABRIEL2178:

Another fantastic example of a stumbler with a point of view who knows how to get it across. Fantastic photos and a real insight into a fantastic mind. A must for people looking for real people on the internet and in this stumble world.

From FRENCHTWIST:

Sweet and tangy glimpses into a lovely and intelligent mind.

From DORIANROLF:

Wonderful to find someone so willing to share their insight and originality. Truly intriguing and beautiful pages. Thank you, jnet.

From NAN:

What a delight it was to stop by the pages of jnetsworld!
She has shared some truly wonderful images, some truly marvelous quotes and poems, and to top that all off, she shares with us her thoughts, her rants, and her life. Truly this is a person who when you meet, you just know, would be a friend for life, and an enjoyable one at that.

From NEEON:

crystalline commentary. like breathing mountain aire.

From POWDERMILKMAN:

This blog swims, screams, dances and prods. Sometimes all at the same time. Fun, interesting, lovely and provocative stuff herein. Links to great art sites, NPPA.org and Powdermilkman's colleague David Putney.
I raise my glass of powdermilk in a toast... Cheers!

From YOLA:

I'm thrilled to be a mutual friend of one so brilliantly expressive. As JNET discovers whats important and blogs about it, a glorious fusion of purity, tranquility and integrity shines forth from her most worthy page: the importance of shunning all shallowness in relationships, the things of beauty that cause her to experience bliss, the indispensable time for solitude, in her existence. This stumbler's site is a journal. A "Note To Self", that she's so graciously shares. Call it "Wisdom Nuggets To Go", if you will. It's JNET's World. We are welcomed to it.

From EONWARD:

here is a fully engaged person doing everything she can to live life deeply, fully, truly, and on the cutting edge- of awareness. although she is sensitive she refuses to give in to despair, and seeks her own connection to god in a culture that often seems to offer only the alternatives of religious fundamentalism, secular nihilism, or watered-down new age cliches. she, wisely, is finding and tending to her personal boundaries while exploring and expanding, and is able to notice when she goes far enough off course-side trips are an inevitability, and often beneficial- and navigate back to where she needs to be. i also personally appreciate the fact that she allows music to be a touchstone, and especially appreciate her connection to the kind of music i love. i salute her and would add that, while the type of journey she is taking is often painful, my personal belief is that it is the most rewarding of all journeys, and thank her for sharing some her own personal journey on su.

From BLEEM-FILK:

...lissen, if California ever slides into the Pacific, along with Schwarzenneger... ...as long as this gurl survives, I won't care!!! ...cuz, she's the coolest product there outside of sun-kissed raisins and wine (check it!)

From HROTHGARRR:

I /wish/ she was the girl next door!

From ACECOOL:

This is one interesting and passionate woman

From 9LIVES3DOWN:

What a beautiful person is projected in these pages. Her thoughts combined with the images are the recipe for calm. Her respect for others is humbling.

From SOOPERGRAPE:

Looks, personality, and string theory too! What's not to like? I have updated information from a special agent in L.A.! He was guided by remote control here at SG Central to an intercept with JNET and has submitted the following report: "Thanks for introducing me to the first really cool person I've met since I got to LA!"

*******************************************************

It's still a bit of a strange thrill and I'm very happy that I write in a way that speaks to people. I write to process daily life, choosing the meaning that would help me create and manifest a future that I want. I want to write to capture the beauty of life as well as the beauty of tradegy in a way that the photographers, artists and musicians I admire capture passion within notes, brushstrokes and framed shots.

I write from that place of strength that everyone has inside of them. That little voice that IS on your side that argues with the OTHER voice and is destined by freedom to win. When I feel confused or frustrated, I go to that space and find that creating the habit of healthier and happier thinking makes for a more mindful and peaceful path.

Here's to keeping life real.... without falling into the illusions of fear.

Public Address of an Introvert

I write on my human experience and the beauty of its design and wildness. I may love fireworks but I would choose silence at any given moment. Solitude recalibrates me so that I can re-enter the curiosity of Life and take on its blissful temperments.

I can't write life as a perpetual day at a picnic and wow over sandwiches and rides. Every day I have a million thoughts that go through my head and I choose one to write on. And like a scientist wearing a writer's hat, I type my thoughts onto this petri dish format of a blog to just look at my thoughts, decide my feelings are on them and write my conclusions.

For a feely feely person, I may come off a bit aloof... I suppose also very unsympathetic. In return, I would tell them that they are being indulgent and drunk on emotion and need to stop feeling and think for a moment.

I do feel but I feel differently and I know there are a lot of people that "feel" like me. Feeling from a hypersensitive space, aware of subtle cues, looking deeply at the subtext for truth, being adaptive and adept to relate rationally and not being reactive.

I don't have time for tearing my heart in ranting conversations with lots of tears, swearing, and drama. It's not my style. I'll walk away from people who need these types of interactions to get to daily truths. And I don't want to always get on a soapbox to extricate love and respect. Either people are committed to be loving and respectful in their relationships or they are careless and keep dropping the ball.

And that's is where my patience ends. I need automony and not spits and starts. Am I unforgiving and intolerant? My friends and family will vouch for my good will. My enemies will say otherwise and get all the more upset that I don't care for their criticisms as I remind them that they have a knack for not knowing how to win my friendship back.

I'm just a girl who likes the quiet life. Between the spaces of silence, I have a very busy life, full of interesting people and projects, giving me an abundance to write from and reflect how to grow from their influence.

Here, you'll read about conflicts and reconciliations, inner struggles and triumphs...BASIC stuff that everyone on the planet deals with. Maybe I make choices you would, maybe I come up with something novel. If you don't agree, then don't torture yourself and read some other blog or take whatever art pleases you and move on.

I'm not here to please anyone. I'm here to live my life and write down my thoughts. I like to stare at them. Try on my thoughts if they fit you. Leave them here if they don't fit you. Become my friend if it suits you. Grow our friendship if you wish.

Because the Mystery Exists

A friend hinted to suggesting that perhaps some things should remain out of jnetsworld in order to remain part of a special and mysterious world.

I have my ways of keeping some things mysterious. I never post pictures of my love interests. But I do post about them.

Why? Won't it destroy the mystery and mysticism? To that I say what is there that can hurt what is transcendent? I write because I want to declare that the mystery exists. I write as if I've gone to a beautiful place and this is my log of the experience and the amazing people.

Not everything nor everyone is bloggable for jnetsworld. This blog was created to log the manifestation of a dream future and so the persons mentioned herein are very special.

It is my royal court... of dignitaries from other kingdoms that come to gift my life with their existence. I have great friends.. loyal friends. I am loved by people who are powerful and generous.

Writing does not destroy the mystery for me; it celebrates it.

And perhaps, it is my own way to say...

Thank you.... to the universe.
